Scope & Subtopics
- Ethnopharmacology and bioprospecting of indigenous medicinal plants, with emphasis on under-represented pharmacopeias (African, Asian, and Amazonian floras)
- Isolation, structural elucidation, and dereplication of bioactive natural products (chromatography, NMR, HRMS, and metabolomics)
- Semi-synthesis and structure–activity relationship (SAR) optimization of natural product scaffolds
- Chemical biology approaches to target identification and mechanism of action (e.g., photoaffinity labeling, activity-based protein profiling)
- Natural products in oncology, infectious disease, and inflammation therapy
- Computational, cheminformatic, and high-throughput strategies for natural product drug discovery
Expected Volume: Maximum of 15 manuscripts (target 10–15), including original research articles, invited reviews and perspective pieces. The special issue fully fits the publishing scope of Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Research (JPBR), covering Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Biopharmaceutical Sciences.
